Abu Dhabi, UAE – Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), emphasized the UAE’s unwavering commitment to humanitarian efforts under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan. As the UAE continues to expand its regional and international humanitarian initiatives, Sheikh Hamdan highlighted the country's dedication to improving the quality of life in underserved communities worldwide.

In a statement marking World Humanitarian Day, Sheikh Hamdan noted the UAE's leadership in global humanitarian and development aid. He credited this achievement to the visionary initiatives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Sheikh Hamdan stressed that the UAE’s "Principles of the 50" include a focus on humanitarian aid, underscoring its importance as a core element of the nation’s ethical obligations and development journey.

Sheikh Hamdan further outlined the UAE’s significant contributions to enhancing humanitarian crisis responses and providing sustainable solutions for global development. He reaffirmed the country’s dedication to being a leading force in humanitarian work.

Separately, Sheikh Khalid Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of the Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination (ZHO), called for stronger global alliances in response to the world’s growing challenges. He reflected on the teachings of the UAE’s founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, whose legacy of compassion and humanitarianism continues to guide the nation's efforts.

"In alignment with the vision of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE is fostering humanitarian values and a culture of philanthropy among its citizens and residents," Sheikh Khalid stated. "We reaffirm the importance of humanitarian work as a fundamental pillar for building a better future for all and send a message of global solidarity."

Echoing these sentiments, Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Suqia UAE, recognized the UAE’s efforts on World Humanitarian Day. He praised the UAE Water Foundation (Suqia) for its role in supporting global sustainable development goals, particularly in ensuring access to clean and safe water. Since its establishment in 2015, Suqia UAE has benefited 14.9 million people worldwide, reflecting the UAE’s dedication to humanitarianism.

"We spare no efforts to collaborate with local and international organizations to implement initiatives that provide clean water to those in need, ensuring a brighter and more sustainable future for all," Al Tayer concluded.
